The following points were the most comminly identified during our brainstorming session at the West Midlands event, as being blocks to habitat creation on minerals sites:

1) Problems of long-term planning (timescales of funding, voluntary organisation involvement etc.)

2) Lack of clear policy direction in minerals plans 

3) Lack of early engagement by conservation organisations

How can we best overcome these issues? Do you have any good examples of approaches to these?
